Rules and Itinerary for 2016 States 2/12 - 2/13

1A/2A 2016 NCHSAA State Swimming Championship
TEAM RULES
● Our Captains for this meet are for the men Taylor Powell, Lucas Haskins, Tyler McCutchan & and for our women Christina Lappin, Taylor Hughes & Shelby Smith. Captains are an extension of the coaching staff. If they ask you to do something, listen. These individuals were picked because of maturity, common sense and dedication to the program. They will not lead you in the wrong way. They are also experienced in swimming and competing in high school. They know the rules!
● We will follow the itinerary. I have set a schedule for us to keep. We are creatures of habit and structure will assure a smooth trip and meet.
● Alternates will be expected to keep the same schedule as the rest of the automatic qualifiers. Your position is of utmost importance. If something happens you are the go to people. Take that seriously.
● Lights out means lights out! Saturday will be a LONG day physically and emotionally.
● After lights out men and women swimmers are to stay in their assigned rooms. No one is allowed in others rooms at this point or any other floors of the hotel. You will know the coaches room numbers and can call if you need us for anything. It may be a good idea for some of you to stay in your parents rooms so you will stay out of trouble and get rest. If this becomes a problem I will personally drive you back to LCS and drive back to the meet without you OR I will place you in your parents or a coaches room.
● Remember this is not a vacation/party trip. We are here focused and with a goal in mind. Keep each other accountable.
● Absolutely no flirting or hanging out with opposite sex from other teams. They are here to compete as well and do not need added distractions.
● Hydrate and fuel your body properly. No junk on this trip.
● Stay positive and uplift all team members, alternate or automatic qualifier.
● Follow all rules of the TAC while we are there. Remember cheer for your team and not against the other teams.
● This meet is about LCS swimming. Let’s keep our focus on that. While we are at states that is our primary focus and the most important thing at that time.
● Stick to your warm up warm down schedule. If it is given to you by me, your club coach or what you are used to doing. Follow the meet so you know when to be ready. All the little things add up to big things!
● Remember to do all shaving at hotel. No shaving is allowed at the TAC.
● No deck change
● Room assignments, special accommodations will be made and approved by coaching staff
