2017 CAVALIER KICK OFF
Valdese Aquatic Center
312 Massel Ave. SE
Valdese, NC 28690

We are limited to TWO swimmers per event for this meet except for 50  Free where we can have EIGHT SWIMMERS.  Please note that we were as fair as possible in getting everyone into an event and/or relay.  Remember that this is not our only swim meet.  This is a Varsity sport and we do try our best to be as competitive as possible in all meets but take into consideration swimmers that are trying to qualify for individual events for Regionals. DIRECTIONS FROM MEET HOST/DIRECTOR - EAST BURKE HIGH SCHOOL
Warm-Up:
This is going to be a large meet, so we will have a divided warm-up. We will start warm-ups at 4:50pm.

4:50-5:10: Foard, CSD, Draughn, EBHS
5:10-5:30: ELHS, Avery, West Lincoln, Hibriten, LCS
5:30-5:50: Lincolnton, Patton, St. Stephens, Watauga, Hendersonville

All 10 lanes will be used for warm-up, and, a reminder, lane 10 will be open the entire meet for warm-up and cool-down, so these times aren't the only time swimmers can spend warming up.
Timing System and Volunteers:
We will be using pads. Please take a few moments in practices before the meet to discuss how to finish below the surface with the pads. This will help out tremendously.
If you have any volunteers who love to help time or run, please have them sign up through the SignUpGenius Link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084cabae2aaaf58-cavalier. Any students needing service organization service hours may come help time, as well.
Entries and Scoring:
The meet will be scored to 16 places.
Each school is permitted two entries per event, relays included. Each team may enter up to 8 swimmers in the 50 Freestyle with the top two swimmers per school scoring and the others being designated as exhibition. Please do not designate swimmers as exhibition, we will take care of that on the Hy-Tek end.
As a reminder, exhibition swims count towards the event totals for swimmers: 4 total events MAX (3 relay, 1 individual or 2 relay, 2 individual).
Please include all relay names in your entries. You may change them at the meet up to the point the relay swims.

Seating and Deck Space:
Please reserve the bleacher space on the lane 10 side of the pool for spectators. Swimmers should plan to sit in the taped off alcove area off of the shallow end of the pool. Parents and spectators are not permitted to sit on the peninsula or come behind the blocks unless they are volunteering. We also ask that all parents please keep the exits clear, especially right at the main entrance. Anyone standing in the space immediately inside the door will be asked to move.
